HUNTING SCENE CUCKOO Circa: 1940
Syroco wood carvings, dial and cuckoo door on wood case. The deer head has glass eyes and the clock hands are made of metal, LUX U.S.A. on dial. Height, 16 Inches to bottom of face. Width, 10 Inches. Fitted with a LUX one day double weight driven movement. Metal cuckoo bird emerges from behind the door and counts the hours and again on the half hour. The original bellows were made of Bakelite. Metal pine cone weights, metal pendulum rod with Syroco wood acorn and oak leaf bob. Made by The Lux Clock Mfg. Co. Waterbury, Conn. Distributed through The DELUXE Clock & Mfg. Co. New York City.

Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.
