In this YouTube Short, I try out Nintendo’s brand-new mobile game/app Pictonico!, and honestly… this might be one of the weirdest things Nintendo has released in years. The app turns your own photos into fast-paced and ridiculous minigames, giving major WarioWare and classic Nintendo DS/Wii era vibes. From strange reactions to completely random scenarios, this app feels like Nintendo experimenting in the funniest way possible.
According to Nintendo, Pictonico! launches on iOS and Android as a “free-to-start” app and includes up to 80 different microgames across multiple game volumes. The game uses your personal photos locally on your device to create absurd minigame situations, and Nintendo confirmed that your photos are not uploaded to their servers. A lot of fans online are already comparing it to WarioWare, Face Raiders, and even the old Game Boy Camera era because of how chaotic and creative the concept is.
