The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) is warning the public against rotavirus.
The institute say it has noted with concern a sharp increase in rotavirus cases in Pretoria, with one fatality reported.
Rotavirus is a common childhood diarrhoeal infection that has a seasonal pattern, peaking during the cooler, drier months of the year.
To get a better understanding of the disease we are joined by Prof Nicola Page, Head of Centre for Enteric Diseases at the National Institute of Communicable Disease.
