Hello, and welcome back to a new train trip report on my channel! For this video, I will be travelling on the new TransPennine Express 'Nova 3' on its longest route from Scarborough to Liverpool Lime Street in First Class.
For a new train in the UK, these have quite a rare setup, being that they are traditional coaches (Mk5 by CAF), hauled by a diesel locomotive (Class 68 by Vossloh/Stadler). I was looking forward to trying a new loco-hauled train in the UK, as we have not had one in a while, thanks to an unfortunate obsession with nasty tacky units.
Today's route begins on the Yorkshire coast at Scarborough, before winding through the hills to York itself. After a stop at this grand station (which plays host to the National Railway Museum), the train continues through to Leeds, then Huddersfield and Manchester, traversing the Pennine Hills. After this is a short dash over to Liverpool.
I really enjoyed this journey with TransPennine Express, and found their new hauled trains to be very nice. Find out why in this video. :)
