Leading critical scholars, such as Bart Ehrman and John Dominic Crossan, still agree that the Gospels and New Testament literature remain our best historical sources for Jesus.
Some may say these texts have a Christian bias, but all historical sources have a perspective. We see similar biases in the Quran regarding Islam, or in the works of Roman historians like Suetonius and Tacitus.
The presence of bias doesn't mean we discard the evidence. If even the most skeptical scholars rely on these texts, we shouldn't be so quick to dismiss them either.
