I came across some bonnet (hood) hinges for the Daimler Dart on eBay. The ones of my car were in very poor condition so I took the opportunity to 'upgrade'. The exercise also gave me chance to have a go at producing 3D printed custom gaskets.

Note: The #10 screws that I used for the plenum chamber grill: the head thickness is greater than the originals & risks rubbing the rear edge of the bonnet. I've since ground the heads down by c.0.6mm. This leaves enough of the screwdriver slot but also more space for the bonnet lid.

![Finding the Findings Trail in Birmingham
The plates found along the Findings Trail were designed by School of Jewellery graduate, Laura Potter, each symbolising an aspect from the Jewellery Quarter’s history.
The trail was only planned to last until 2009 but is still mostly there. (S was lost to roadworks and I couldnt find Z). Sites are listed below, with some explanations - if you know more please add any details in the comments. Id love to see an original leaflet, produced back in 1999.
00:23 (A) British Telecom site & cold war communications centre is below, with 6 miles of tunnels.
00:43 (B) Keep it real - Former site of the Assay Office; assuring quality of precious metals.
00:54 (C) Beer bottle tops. Legend that Birminghams Anchor assay mark was assigned by coin toss in the Crown & Anchor pub in London.
01:16 (D) St Pauls Church (1777 on), The Jewellers Church is in the nearby square, to your right)
01:27 (E) Site of Russian Mountains roller coaster during the 1800s. (Look up Katherine the Great.)
01:42 (F) Paint tubes. Royal Birmingham Society of Arts (formed 1812) building is along Brook St, to the right
01:49 (G) Babies bottle teats. Victorian nannies frequented St Pauls Square (to the right) that consequently became nicknamed Little Bottle Park
02:00 (H) Dip pen ink holder. Birminghams famous for Victorian steel nib manufacture. This was the site of the Barker & Finnemore factory
02:31 (I) Mortar & pestle. Borax flux is still widely used in jewellery manufacture & repair

04:22 (K) On the corner of Vittoria St, home of the Birmingham School of Jewellery for over 100yrs
03:25 (L) Next to the Victoria Works site (nicknamed Flag House). Once the largest pen nib producer in the world.
03:43 (M) Joseph Gillot perfected mass nib production at the Victoria Works which became a wonder visited by many, incl General Ulysses Grant. (Quote is by English poet Alexander Pope (1688 - 1744))

05:16 (P) The Birmingham Mint operated for 200yrs producing coins for countries worldwide, only closing in 2003. It produced some UK coins under contract to the Royal Mint, incl. farthings (1/4 of an old penny) - as embedded here. They feature a wren.
05:20 (Q) Former HQ of West Midlands Transport, famous to their cream & navy blue buses
05:22 (R) Curb chain (horse tack) - Chain making; an important Jewellery Quarter skill.

05:28 (U) Jewellers bench peg; V shaped wood support widely used by jewellers
03:30 (V) George and Henry Elkington; first patents for electroplating 1840. Elkington Works was here.
05:32 (W) Celluloid (used for photographic film) was invented by the Elkington brothers
05:34 (X) Refers to the canals, the arteries of the area.
