Having toyed with the thought of 3D printing a replica of the, very rare, gear lever knob missing from my Daimler SP250 sports car, a very kind member of the Daimler & Lanchester Owners Club actually gave me an original one. So my car now has a 'proper', original gear knob.
Nevertheless, I decided to have a go at 3D printing a replica, as outlined in this video. Might be useful for other 'knob-less' owners, or as a festive alternative knob at Christmas time, or special occasions.
The software I used is OpenSCAD (free) openscad.org
The printer's a Bambu A1 uk.store.bambulab.com/products/a1
The 3D model may be useful to others suffering from 'no-original-knob anxiety' ; or at least be a starting point to creating a better version. I hope so..
