The new GMA S1 brings the spirit of the McLaren F1 into a modern supercar with a 681 horsepower naturally aspirated V12, 6 speed manual transmission, and central driving position. Limited to just 64 cars worldwide, this could be one of Gordon Murray's most desirable creations yet.
Revealed by Gordon Murray Special Vehicles at The Quail during Monterey Car Week, the S1 takes inspiration from the more extreme S1 LM but shifts the focus toward road driving and long distance touring. Its custom 4.2 liter Cosworth V12 can reach an incredible 12,100 revolutions per minute while producing approximately 369 pound feet of torque.
Power is delivered through a 6 speed manual transmission, while active rear aerodynamics replace the large fixed aerodynamic components found on the S1 LM. The suspension has also been adjusted for greater comfort while maintaining the lightweight construction and responsive handling expected from a Gordon Murray supercar.
Inside, the S1 uses a 3 seat layout with the driver positioned in the center, immediately recalling Gordon Murray's legendary McLaren F1. More leather, additional sound insulation, upgraded displays, adjustable steering assistance, and a lightweight audio system make this a supercar designed to be enjoyed beyond the racetrack.
With only 64 examples planned, the GMA S1 combines old school supercar philosophy with modern engineering in a package that feels increasingly rare.
