I'm tackling the installation of the Hansshow Power Frunk for the new Model Y Juniper, and this is an absolute game-changer. The manual frunk is out, the powered life is in!
Why the Frunk is Essential: I use my frunk a lot because that compartment is completely separated from the cabin. This is perfect for stinky gym clothes, takeout food, or anything else you don't want smelling up the interior. I'll appreciate this space even more now that it's powered!
Installation Sneak Peek: The first step is removing the frunk tub, which is secured by a couple of T30 screws. You need a prop for the hood, as the single strut won't hold it up when you start working. I managed to hide the wiring cleanly, tucking and zip-tying the control boxes out of sight.
The Convenience: You can access the frunk several ways: use the phone app, the interior screen for open/close control, or the dedicated button right on the frunk lid. No more slamming the hood shut—it closes quietly and automatically.
This is the ultimate quality-of-life upgrade for the Model Y.
