I’m bringing the Juniper in for service to fix the driver rear door/window malfunction that started weeks ago. The issue was complex: the door wouldn't unlatch sometimes, and the window wouldn't auto-roll down when opening, causing it to catch the trim.
I share a critical piece of Tesla service policy: they now charge $100 per day if you don't pick up your vehicle within 24 hours of notification. Knowing I was traveling for Thanksgiving, I had to reschedule quickly to avoid this automated fee!
My other concern was the door was randomly working again when I dropped it off, and I feared they would only recalibrate the window. Luckily, they looked at the mobile technician's notes.
The Fix and The Verdict:
They verified the issue and performed the fix: removing and replacing the entire rear left-hand door harness. This confirms that the wiring harness was indeed the culprit for both the door latch and the window's malfunction—they are all connected!
The best news? They held the car overnight so a Lead Technician could inspect the work before flagging it complete! Since I've had issues getting my cars back in worse shape (like the Cybertruck cant rail), this extra step is crucial. If possible, request a Lead Technician inspection too if you have a history of QC issues!
I'm happy to report the gremlin is gone! Now I can finally get my windows tinted. Thank you for watching! If you liked the video, please Like and Subscribe!
