I've been driving around with the Matrix Headlights on the Rivian R1S Gen 2, and I have to say, this technology is far more than just a fancy feature—it's incredibly helpful. Having it on this truck is fantastic!
I was initially skeptical, but using the Matrix lights, which precisely shapes the light beam to maximize my road visibility without blinding oncoming traffic, is a major upgrade for night driving safety. This system effectively lets you run a continuous high beam, which I really enjoy.
I'm glad to see this advanced lighting coming to more cars here in the United States, as the UK and other European countries have had it enabled for some time. It's great that Rivian moved quickly to add this technology on their Gen 2 vehicles once U.S. regulations allowed it.
And just like with every EV, the R1S gets better every month! We're seeing frequent software updates with new features, bug fixes, and continuous refinement, showing that Rivian is constantly paying attention and delivering frequent improvements to the driving experience.
