On 29.01.1948, at the Chicago Coliseum, Joe Louis faced Bob Foxworth in a 4-round exhibition match. Though it didn’t count on either boxer’s professional record, Louis overwhelmed the light heavyweight Foxworth with speed and control. Foxworth, a former U.S. amateur champion, was unable to land anything effective. The match ended amicably and is remembered now as rare footage showing Louis early in his career, engaging in a sparring-style exhibition that showcased his boxing mastery.
