This tutorial offers a comprehensive demonstration of how network operators can modernize infrastructure using a Kubernetes-centric, open-source approach to enhance operational efficiency, simplify resource management, and provide a unified platform for advanced observability and configuration. You will witness the deployment of a foundational lab environment using Containerlab, followed by the integration of Prometheus and Grafana for real-time telemetry.
We will explore GitOps-driven management with Flux, showcasing how intent-based configuration and SDCIO manage complex network elements like a Broadband Network Gateway (BNG). The demo dives into the practicalities of handling YANG schema imports, managing gNMIc subscriptions, and automating responses to configuration drift. Finally, we will cover the implementation of a unified platform for alarms and notifications using AlertManager.
This session is designed for intermediate to advanced network operators who have a foundational understanding of container orchestration.
