Creating a wildlife-rich network of habitats around the city of Cambridge, the Cambridge Nature Network plan to connect existing nature sites, making them bigger and better!
Covering over 9,000ha, this project will include the creation of new chalk grassland – an important habitat for threatened bird species, insects and wildflowers.
Cambridge has one of the lowest levels of natural greenspace available to the public so new woodlands and meadows will be created to support the city’s rapidly growing population.
By restoring nature, this Nature Recovery Project will support species as well as people living and working close to the area – connecting them with nature to boost wellbeing.
