The last song in my debut album, Through These Rough Years.
This song is fairly self explanatory. Having come to terms with all the subject matters of the previous songs, it is now time for you to leave the pain, trauma, and past behind. You now know for certain that life is worth continuing to fight for, and that whatever lies ahead will be better than whatever it is you went through. You'll be okay.
LYRICS:
I now stand on the other side
Of the mountain that tore me down
Throughout this life
Awoken and free from my torment
You thought you could break me
But I slipped through your grasp
I once was at my worst
But I made it out alive
This world tried to break me, boil me, and kill me from inside
But despite the lies and pain I used to hide
I stand triumphant, with no need to cry
And now with my past in the past
I stand free!
So don’t worry about me
I’m moving on, to greener trees
I’m saying goodbye to the place I know
Leaving behind the pain from home
No longer a slave to the roads that mocked me
I’ve broken out, I’ve left it all behind
I’ll be okay, it’ll be okay
“I made it out. The road was a winding, rough one. But I made it to the other side. But what does this matter to you, listening to this? Well… if there’s anything I want you to take from this, it’s that no matter what you may be going through, you cannot give up. Keep fighting. One day, you WILL make it out of the tunnel. Getting there may be difficult… but it’s always worth it in the end.”
