Hey guys! It's been a REALLY long time since you last heard from me, and while I absolutely feel I owe you guys an explanation for where I've been and what the hell has been going on... That video is coming later (It's in the editing stage, I promise!)
So in the meantime, I thought I'd finally put out this project I've been working on for LITERAL months by this point!
I knew I wanted to do a song inspired by this game even before it came out, simply because I thought the basic concept of it would make for a good song. But this project has been in development hell since early summer... I finished the song either the same month the game came out, or in June (it's been long enough I don't really remember exactly when I finished it), but I felt it needed a better, bigger, and more professional-sounding mix than what I currently know how to do.
Initially, I was gonna have the person who mixed my Silent Hill 2 song do it, but he ended up being unable to because he was completely overbooked with clients. Towards the end of summer, I tried paying someone else to mix the song, but they sent me one mix that I wasn't happy with, offered to do a revision... and then never got back to me with an updated mix (I'm guessing they had personal stuff going on or something... I still haven't heard from them.) Finally, my friend from the YouTube channel AudioDiscovery offered to mix it for me... And I'm so proud of him because he did a REALLY great job with it! Then I put together the lyric video, and... well, the project is finally out now!
I wanted to try to combine the Mick Gordon style that modern Doom is known for with a lot of orchestral/symphonic elements, and my usual metalcore sound. I think I did a decent job of it; the song fits pretty well, and it might be one of my favorite songs I've put out so far.
As per usual, I played the rhythm guitar parts myself on my guitar, however the lead guitar parts and the guitar solo were done using MIDI guitar, with a plugin called Ample Metal Eclipse, since my lead guitar skills aren't quite there yet.
This song will be releasing on streaming platforms soon... I just haven't had the chance to get it distributed yet. I'll be working on it as soon as possible; just have some other things I've gotta take care of first.
