I love a healthy-fatty high protein coffee. But, this exact mix isn’t right for everyone. For me it gives just the right amount of time released energy, protein and nutrients that keep me satiated during morning hours when I want to be productive and focused.
I’m obsessed with black sesame! In TCM herbal practice we use it often in internal formulas for alopecia. It strengthens the Liver and Kidney organ system energy, which weakens for many of us by the time we reach the perimenopausal age (me rn) of 40’s, 50’s and up. These 2 organ systems are major players in supporting hair, bone and hormonal health.
Since ancient times, black sesame has been known in Chinese culture to “blacken” as well as strengthen the hair. Now, modern research (in Asia) shows promising results for its use supporting hair growth. A mouse study in Korea showed it was comparable to minoxidil when applied to shaved skin. While this may or may not translate to human models, its ancestral use in Chinese herbal practice coupled with suggestive research is a clear enough signal for me that they were onto something.
Collagen peptides by @Thorne add a protein punch. Proteins are important for building good blood to build hair. As we say in TCM “your hair is at the end of your blood.”
So what’s with the MCT, heavy cream you ask? I’ve always been a fan of the “bulletproof” style of coffee made with butter and coconut oil. So I’m just adding collagen peptides and black sesame to HAIR BOOST it.
Since I’m able to source this gorgeous unpasteurized cream (full of vitamins and nutrients) from a local farmer who cares for his animals, I prefer it over butter.
Yes, this is a fat bomb. But it keeps me satiated, energized and focused. My personal diet is high in protein and fats, low in carbs. I’m not exactly keto but my macro ratios are a similar vibe.
I can’t recommend this for you because I don’t know your health condition. I wouldn’t recommend this blend if you have weak Spleen and Stomach organ energy, have trouble digesting fats, chronic diarrhea, heart disease, gallbladder inflammation or an excess heat condition.
