I see plenty of run analysis videos pointing out the “bad” in runners, so let’s look at the good in this one.
Here is Melvin, who is an awesome human just trying to refine his skill in running.
One thing I appreciate is how he makes runs fun, and will even run in costumes…and yet, he still puts down some solid times.
Now, lets take a look at his running.
When watching someone run, I take a look at a range of speeds.
Typically, I will see a drop in running quality as people run faster.
At high intensity paces, technique can go out the window.
For Melvin, he maintains decent technique even as we get into higher intensity paces.
The take home message here is that the priority of a run analysis is to help understand the body, not lose confidence in it.
Address not only the weaknesses, but the strengths as well.
