A rock/metal cover of 'Mute City' from video game F-Zero.
This is one of the first VGM covers I've done, and I think when it comes to guitar covers of VGM songs, F-Zero is a no brainer!
I'm not too familiar with the F-Zero franchise, but I definitely enjoyed playing the original on the Switch virtual console and also enjoyed Maximum Velocity for the Gameboy. However, through the VGM community and through the amazing remixes in Super Smash Bros. I was definitely familiar with how amazing the music is in this franchise!
It's a relatively straightforward arrangement, but definitely had some fun adding some riffs and heaviness over the melodies we already know! A lot of inspiration is also take from the Smash Bros. remix of this, especially for the keyboard solo. My keyboard skills are also not great at all, but I definitely wanted keyboard parts in there, so the solo and some other parts are also programmed.
This cover was done back in 2017 as part of a video game music cover album, 'A Generation's Legacy', from my band Oroborus back when there were only two of us. This is why the mixing isn't as good and up to date, but hopefully still enjoyable!
