A cover of Bed Of Razors by Children Of Bodom, from the album 'Hatebreeder'.
Children of Bodom has always been an influence in my playing and song writing, as I feel they're one of the bands that have both awesome riffs and incredible lead work. I got into them pretty late but I was instantly hooked on I Worship Chaos, and quickly proceeded to buy the rest of their albums. As the news of Alexi Laiho's passing, it definitely hit me pretty hard, and decided to pay tribute with a long over due cover.
About this song in particular, is definitely my favourite from the album. The lead parts are super catchy and fun to play, and the 12/8 rhythm means the riffs still groove. I should point out, I am no Janne Wirman - my keyboard playing is pretty poor so I had to use some 'studio magic' to help the parts sound more clean. This is also the first time I covered a song with all high screams, which is far from my forte (my usual lower screams), but hopefully I did the cover justice adequately pays respect to the legend himself.
