A cover of "Tharbad Night" from the video game Trails Through Daybreak.
As said in all my previous Trails covers, I am completely addicted to this series with it's amazing story and fantastic music! I seriously can't recommend these games enough. There are a ton of songs I want to cover from this series, so there will definitely be more to come, and let me know if there's any you want to hear! This track in particular stood out to me so much, it's so catchy it had me hooked straight way and I knew I had to cover it!
The arrangement was fairly easy, as the original has a song structure that flows quite nicely and makes it easy to turn into a song - play each section once, and repeat it with variations and putting my own spin on things. I don't often hear metal songs where the entire track has a swing feel so that was really fun to do here! Some of the rhythm guitar parts were deceptively tricky because of it! And it was SUPER fun to play those lead sax lines on guitar, and my own feel to it and some of those semi/pinch harmonics!
In terms of mix, it's a fairly standard one - my typical rock/metal setup plus synths, strings, organ for that extra progressive feel. I'm still not happy with this mix but I think it's the best I can do without spending days on it.
