Seagulls Gather | Mudlark by John Sedden Book Review @SeagullsGather | Uploaded October 2022 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
My review of 2005's Mudlark. This story is set in Portsmouth in 1914 as World War One is being fought in Europe. Jimmy and Reggie are mudlarks - boys who use their charm and wit to beg for coins in the harbour - but when they disover a skull on their patch it sets off a chain of events that leads to them being wanted by the police and accusing the King himself of murder.
The book was written by John Sedden who is a local historian.
