Mt. Triglav is the highest mountain in Slovenia and one of the most iconic climbs in the Julian Alps. From breathtaking alpine landscapes and challenging via ferrata sections to the incredible summit views, this is what it's really like to climb Slovenia’s legendary national symbol.
Located in the heart of Triglav National Park, Mount Triglav is a bucket-list destination for hikers, climbers, and outdoor adventurers visiting Slovenia. The route to the summit is physically demanding and includes exposed sections —but the reward is an unforgettable experience above the clouds. There are many options to hike to the summit of Mt. Triglav. The route we chose was the Plemenice route (Bamberg Path or Čez Plemenice), which is known for being the most challenging as it climbs directly of the massive north face of Mt. Triglav. We took the Prag (Pot čez Prag) route back down. Our routed started at Aljažev Dom in the Vrata Valley.
