I just got back from a quick trip out to AZ for a little Super Tenere visitation and to visit one of my favorite roads: US Route 191 in AZ from Morenci to Blue and back. I would have gone all the way up to alpine, AZ like I usually do but I hit some serious ice and snow on the road surface and pulled a U turn. While obviously not as lush as in summertime, the road still offers breathtaking views and vistas and you get to use all six of your gears in the hundreds of curves and switchbacks. The Morenci Mine area is as ugly as ever but less traffic meant a perfect ride for me with the daytime temps in the mid-50's. Why ride the same road over and over again? Because it's awesome. Watch the video and see the photos if you need more encouragement. I shot all the photos and video with the Sony A7CII camera and the 28-60 kit lens, which might be slow but makes up for it by being really sharp!
