As the 70s drew to a close, one time Beach Boy (along with Blondie Chapin), Ricky Fataar sterred in the film spoofing the Beatles, “The Ruttles”. He continued as a session drummer and branched out into producing. In 1981 he co-produced Renee Geyer’s album, “So Lucky”, which featured her Australian hit, “Say I Love You”. The following year he was in Australia and joined the Monitors along with fellow producer Mark Moffat and Terry McCarthy.
The group – before Ricky joined - had had a #16 Australian hit in 1980 with “Singing In The 80’s”. They disbanded after this album with Ricky and Mark Moffatt going on to work with artists such as Russell Morris, Tim Finn, Q E D and Mental As Anything.
