There is no doubt about the influence that the Allman Brothers' "At Fillmore East" album had on guitar players, listeners and people wanting to label the sound that they inadvertently invented - Southern Rock. Duane Allman and Dickie Betts tore it up in tandem with Berry Oakley, Jaimoe, Butch Trucks and Duane's younger brother Gregg on keys and vocals for a three-night session that set the bar for all who came after. I was only 8 years old at the time and Australian radio didn't catch on to the Allmans until Dickie's "Ramblin' Man" a bit later in 1973. I got it then (at the age of 10) and I'm still getting it now. @mlapedals1 are from the same area where those guys grew up and did their thing. They have devoted considerable time and resources into honouring the tones of Duane and Dickie and their Peacock Overdrive is just a small but important instalment of their journey. I hope I've done it justice.
