In this video we take a ride on Mississauga Miway’s route 109 Meadowvale Express, which runs north and south between Kipling Terminal and Meadowvale Centre Transit Terminal. Route 109 runs 7 days a week almost 24 hours a day, and is based out of Miway’s Central Parkway Garage. This route also uses both 40 foot and 60 foot transit buses. It’s not too often you see a Local bus on the 109, especially one of the oldest in the fleet. On top of it all, had a driver I know behind the wheel. Was a great catch.
0307 is a 2003 New Flyer D40LF and is part of a 44 unit order. These were the first fleet of D40LF’s purchased by Mississauga Transit, and are currently in the process of retirement. These units are powered with a Cummins 8.3L EPA01 Diesel Turbocharged engine (ISL) and a 4 speed automatic Voith DIWA-864.3E transmission. These units have American Seating Model 6468 seats, and driver controlled heating and cooling.
There’s just about 10-15 units in this fleet remaining, and 0307 happens to be the 3rd oldest left. Catching this bus on a solid 108/109 block was a very neat surprise and a treat. Enjoy as we commute from the new Kipling Terminal to Renforth station along Dundas, then highway 427, Eglinton, and finally the transit way.
