In this video we take a ride on Mississauga Miway’s Route 66 McLaughlin, which runs north and south on McLaughlin road between City Centre Transit Terminal and Sheridan Davis Campus. Route 66 runs 7 days a week almost 24 hours a day, and is based out of Miway’s Central Parkway Garage. This route also uses both standard 40 foot & 60 transit buses.
1069 is a 2010 New Flyer D60LFR and is part of a 22 unit order (1051-1072). These buses were Miway’s first 60’ Articulated buses for Express service, and the very first articulated buses with a streamlined BRT styled roofline and Miway branding. In early-mid 2021, 1069-1071 were repainted by Miway to the bright orange “MiLocal” paint and “converted” to local buses. Converted is in quotations because as you can clearly see in the video, the interior is still the same, and the units have visible blue left over at the top of the front. These units are powered by a Cummins 8.9L Clean Diesel Turbocharged 330HP EPA-2010 Engine (ISL9) and an Allison 6 speed automatic transmission (B500R6). These units ride on MAN Drive Axles, and have driver controlled heating and cooling for both driver and passengers. These buses also feature 4ONE Aries seats for the passengers.
