About 200 kids and adults were left stranded at Camp Taum Sauk in southeastern Missouri after intense rainfall triggered devastating flooding last month. Campers Parker and Sawyer Waldman described watching the water rise before the Missouri National Guard arrived with Black Hawk helicopters made at Sikorsky’s facility in Stratford, Connecticut.

The brothers recalled their helicopter evacuation and the relief of reaching safety. All campers and staff were ultimately safe and accounted for.
