Newly released search warrant information is shedding light on the discovery of three skeletal remains inside a Burlington home that had gone through foreclosure. Police say Paul, Sally and Brian Cash were found in sleeping bags, with two bodies in one room and one in another. Police said there was no evidence of a struggle and no suspicion of foul play.

Carbon monoxide poisoning has been excluded as a cause of death, while police have said possibilities include malnutrition and hypothermia from cold exposure. The remains were markedly decomposed, limiting the investigation. Court records show the sale of the home remains paused as the investigation is pending.
