Mini AeroScout Brushless Upgrade
In this video I cover my upgrade of the Horizon Hobby.Hobby Zone Mini AeroScout with new RC electronics to include a Park 250 brushless motor.
The Mini AeroScout BNG (bind and fly) model is a popular radio control model airplane from the folks at Horizon Hobby. The model comes ready to fly with electronics and an older, basic brushed electric motor.
I found that the original Mini AeroScout RTF airplane just did not have sufficient control throw to offer reliable flight performance. But, I liked the layout of the RC plane and the tough foam construction. I decided, as part of my Mini AeroScout RTF review, to replace the original electronics with a Spektrum AR620 receiver, two HS40 servos and a Park 250 brushless electric motor.
The resulting remote control plane offers plenty of power and control throw, and is a lot of fun to fly. In addition, learning how to retrofit an existing RC plane with new electronics is a useful skill for other aircraft in your model collection.
