In this video, I show off a very fast automatic smelting machine using the new features added in Minecraft 1.5 (now in pre-release!). This machine takes items out of a double chest and distributes them between 8 or 16 furnaces for faster smelting, then feeds all of the output items into another double chest.
The idea for this machine came from xisumavoid (an awesome Minecraft YouTuber), though his design used minecarts (and thus was much noisier).

I completed Ethos latest speed challenge on my first try (after he failed both of the attempts he showed), as long as you dont count the time I spawned in 2-deep water.
The challenge is to construct a jukebox using a diamond found in a cave (not a stripmine) and to play a record disk in it, all on hardcore mode and without using the jump key once. The challenge is a LOT harder than Etho originally thought, and I knew from the beginning that it would probably take a while. Ironically, the part of the task Etho died twice trying to achieve (the record) wasnt the big issue for me, it was the single diamond.")
