A few things you might not know about Minecraft snapshot 13W01B (most if not all apply in 13W01A as well): Redstone items including weighted pressure plates (also torches, which look ridiculous) can be placed on top of hoppers, hoppers only access/fill half of a double chest, the other mode on the redstone comparator subtracts the side input from the back input, comparators can be used to make a compact NOR latch that even stores analog values, and comparators can be used to generate a weak signal without the need for a long redstone wire.

If you haven't seen reviews of the new features in 13W01A/B, search YouTube for snapshot reviews on 13W01A and you'll get a ton (though few if any will cover the stuff in this video.
