Michael Price - She Said (26th May)
upd. out of curiosity, I just listened to a recording made by the composer himself - and he plays this piece much faster! Well, I have the right to my own interpretation :)
*Michael Price is one of the UK’s most sought after composers. His critically acclaimed debut album on Erased Tapes Records, Entanglement, released in April 2015, was described as ‘gorgeous’ by Rolling Stone, as ‘a neo-classical treat’ by Uncut, and Clash remarked that ‘the emotional clout of this music is quite staggering’.
Beginning his career as a pianist and composer for contemporary dance, he has now established the Michael Price Trio and Ensemble to perform his own work in diverse venues across the world, including the Royal Albert Hall, London, the Casa da Musica, Porto, Reeperbahn Festival, Hamburg, and the Stadsschouwburg in Leuven.
Michael’s work for film and television has been also widely recognised, winning an EMMY award in 2014, and Royal Television Society, Music&Sound, and Televisual Bulldog awards as well as a BAFTA nomination and 2 further EMMY nominations for the critically acclaimed BBC series Sherlock, which he scores with David Arnold.

Philip Glass - Opening [Reworked]
Here is my new interpretation of Opening by Philip Glass.
Rather than recording another straightforward piano performance, I wanted to explore the piece from a different perspective.
What youre hearing is a vintage C. Bechstein Model C grand piano, layered with multiple cello parts performed by my cello buddy, together with textures created using a Yamaha PSR-6 routed through a MOOD pedal by Chase Bliss. The result is less a cover than a reimagining - something that sits somewhere between contemporary classical, ambient, and cinematic music.
🎼 About the music
Opening is the first piece from Philip Glasss landmark 1982 album Glassworks.
Originally conceived as an introduction to the album, it has since become one of Glasss most recognizable piano works. Built from repeating arpeggiated figures and gradually shifting harmonies, the piece perfectly embodies the hypnotic musical language that helped define minimalism.
Glassworks itself occupies a special place in Glasss catalogue. Written not only for concert audiences but also for listeners discovering his music for the first time, the album became one of the defining recordings of contemporary classical music and remains a gateway into Glasss distinctive sound world.

Philip Glass (born 1937) is one of the most influential composers of the last half-century. Together with Steve Reich, Terry Riley, and La Monte Young, he helped shape the minimalist movement, though his music has long since transcended that label.
