New dumb category AY LMAO!
Basically this is "any%", but I can't get a single Best Badge. For those unfamiliar, a "low%" speedrun in a game is completion by collecting/doing as little as necessary, even if this means the run takes longer than "any%". This is most common in Metroidvanias and other collectible progression games.
The implications in this game are multifold:
- I have to intentionally take more shots to avoid chips-in and birdie putts. This sometimes opens dumber/riskier routes because I don't have to worry about saving birdie anyway. This is what subverted my speedrun tempo so violently that I do the absolute stupidest things.
- No badges means no extra "Very Well Done" time spent at the end of each hole.
- No Star Boo since you need 50 Badges to unlock her.
- Bowser Championship has a cutoff of 0, which means no Birdies or Bogeys. Only Pars. I'd have to restart the tournament outright if I Bogeyed; or the entire run if I Birdied.
Sure enough, we had an asynchronous race, and Rusty bopped me only two minutes later. It was good fun, even if it took 4 hours longer than necessary.
