As Snake was approaching the lab that held Dr. Hal Emmerich...
...he heard a commotion. A very violent commotion...
When Snake entered into the next hallway, the sight he saw was a total horror show. Several soldiers had just gotten slain by some kind of blade.
And then around the corner, he saw that the one responsible for this was that Cyborg Ninja he encountered early after fighting Ocelot... and he was now heading towards Dr. Emmerich!

In the next room, in Hal's lab, the Ninja had him cornered. The doctor was so terrified that he... wet his pants...
The Ninja was looking for some kind of friend, but Hal didn't know what he was talking about. Then Snake showed up, and the Ninja was very eager to fight him to the death
"It's like one of my Japanese animes..."
While the Cyborg Ninja's back was turned, Hal dove into a lock to hide and protect himself as Snake and the Ninja began their duel.
"Make me feel alive again!"

This fight is split into multiple phases as you bring the Ninja's health down.
First off, although he will use his sword, you can't use your weapons against him, as he'll just reflect them with his sword. He's forcing you to fight him in Close-Quarters-Combat.
"Hand to hand... is the basis of all combat. Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon."
In this phase, watch how he approaches you, and then do your 3-hit combo when he's open. His ninja acrobatics can practically chase you down, and you'll even try a super stomp!
In the next phase, when his health is a little more than halfway down, he forces you to play Hide 'n Seek with him. He will hide somewhere while using stealth camouflage. You gotta hunt him down and keep punching and kicking him, and even before them, he may try to chase you down, instead.
In the penultimate phase, he becomes a masochist, and begs Snake to keep hurting him. Even then, he'll still hunt you down, but with a slow walk towards you, and a couple flash steps once he's within punching range. He keeps talking like he's met and fought Snake before...

Then... in the final phase when his health is one bip left... this Cyborg Ninja goes berserk. PREPARE TO STEP BACK!
He'll constantly freak out and surround himself in a field of electricity. It's range is actually bigger than it looks.
You can either weave between intervals of this field to keep punching him until the fight's finally over... OR you can be cheap and finally unload some weapons upon him since he won't deflect them at this point anymore. I end up doing both to be a fool on him.

Once the fight finally ends, Snake had a tragic revelation of who this Ninja actually is. He was a soldier that he thought he killed in Zanzibar Land in his previous mission...
Then the Cyborg Ninja freaks out one last time, bringing up some kind of medicine, as if he was being possessed.
And then... he suddenly fled once more.
Snake then reported to his personnel... That Cyborg Ninja was none other than Gray Fox!
Turned out that Naomi had learned about him during her time as FOXHOUND's medical staff. Gray Fox was a part of a gene therapy experiment. This experiment somehow revived him from death, and then they put him into an exoskeleton and kept him drugged for four years.
From Naomi's tone, she sounded very peeved of this... She also felt concerned over the possibility of Snake fighting him again, possibly even killing him, next time...
For now, it was time to check on Dr. Hal Emmerich in that locker.
