I'm now bringing Snake further North through Shadow Moses Island, leaving the Nuclear Disposal Facility and towards the Nuclear Warhead Storage Building.

Back out in the snow, Snake gets a new CODEC call at 140.48. The man calling can't be seen, but his voice can be heard. He calls himself "Deepthroat", and no relation the Watergate informant scandal.

"Deepthroat" is apparently is big fan of Snake and wanted to warn him about Claymore Mines buried in the snow. Not the first time Snake had a call like this.

With the Mine Detector, you can see the Claymores with the radar. With the Thermal Goggles, you can just see them literally buried. Like before, if you crawl over them, they'll not only not go off, but you just pick them up.
----------

Further north past the mines, Snake is confronted by a giant M1 tank. There are a few Genome Soldiers piloting it, but the leader of them is another one of the new FOXHOUND's top members: Vulcan Raven.

You can't just approach the tank directly, or it'll blast you apart. You can use a Chaff Grenade to distort its electronic vision on you. Nastasha knows.

Then, when you're close enough, to actually damage this boss, you have to toss normal hand Grenades at the upper hatch of it and see it blast a soldier. It may even send them flying right out of it!

"See how you like this!"

It also doesn't need to be said, but either way, try not to get ran over by the tank, either. It's not instant death this time, but it can still really HURT!
----------

Snake defeated the enough Genome Soldiers out of the M1 tank. For the last one he defeated, he was able to pick up a Level 3 Security Card, allowing him to continue on into the Nuclear Warhead Storage Facility.

Vulcan Raven didn't seem too disappointed with losing against Snake. It seemed like he was just evaluating Snake's combat skills so he can affirm them to his boss, Liquid.

Apparently, Snake & Liquid have similar feelings and emotions when it comes to combat.

Revolver Ocelot wants to have a Round 2 against Snake, and so too does Raven, but Liquid wants them both not to kill him just yet... probably because HE wants to be the one to do so...
----------

To say this now, your Security Key Cards automatically stack on top of each other this time. So Level 1 gets replaced with Level 2, which then gets replaced with Level 3, and so on.

Whatever level you have now on your card, it will open any and all doors of that number AND LOWER.

A very fine improvement from the MSX games; nearly perfect! You just still have to equip the thing in order to open the doors, which may still get tedious at times...
