It was an honor to meet with Val Fischbach in the week of May 20th of 2025 to talk about his railroad career on the Burlington RR and his time in the interlocking towers. He shows us how train orders were handed to passing trains and shares many great information.
I had two cameras set up. My main camera was not entirely in focus even though I set it up beforehand, but I must have bumped it. So, I had to go with the footage from my back-up camera. Also, my main camera's display has gone black so I can't see what I am doing. It's all guessing.
Val is about 90 years old in 2025 and he gets around very well at this time, and he even beat us to the Steam Engine 4978. He was moving along very good. I can't thank him enough, and Len Schwemlein for arranging the interview.
I don't think I am going to do any more interviews. I am tired and m vision increasingly becomes more difficult. I have one recorded and needs finishing, but I ran into obstacles. I will do one more personal one of my own Mendota memories and that's going to be it.
