Italian psychedelic doomsters MEIFU will release their debut album “Haunted Dreams" on July 5th via Argonauta Records.
Band comments on the album:
“After five years of career and live experience, Meifu are proud to unveil their official debut album “Haunted Dreams”, a work focused on different stories united by the element of transformation and change, both lyrical and musical. Through a massive bass, hermetic guitar parts and a tribal drumming, “Haunted Dreams” explores disturbing atmospheres guided by ritualistic vocal interpretation of Mari, on a thoughtful and immersive path that transcends genres to reach an inner space of self-understanding and meditation”.
Album tracklisting:
1. Cubensis
2. Third Eye Invocation
3. Turkish Kraken
4. Steerpike
5. Battle Of Chapultepec
6. So Magic
Today, the band released their new single "Battle of Chapultepec," now available on all streaming platforms:

Meifu were born in January 2019 combining the artistic personalities of Edoardo (Lord Elephant, Necromorbid, Sickening), Tommy (ex-Vij), Genia (Dragnet, ex-Vij) and Mari (Sorelle Trapasso). Over the years they have refined a particular style that ranges between drifts of doom, stoner and psychedelia through a suggestive sound experience that oscillates between ethereal moments and others heavier. In 2022 they released indipendently their first demo, promoted with an enchanting night with Messa in Florence, live shows and a mini-tour around Italy with the band Carrito. They finished in April 2023 to record the debut album “Haunted Dreams" at Audiovolt Studio of Lorenzo Bellia, sealing the long path made together with six songs of passion and photos.
Band lineup:
Mari – Vocals
Tommy - Guitar
Genia – Bass, Backing Vocals
Edoardo – Drums, Backing Vocals

Icelandic stoner doom metal psychonauts SLEEPING GIANT proudly announce their signing with Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records, marking a powerful new chapter in the band’s journey through crushing riffs and cosmic heaviness. To celebrate this partnership, the band unleashes their debut single “Conqueror”.
Emerging from the volcanic underground of Iceland, SLEEPING GIANT channel the raw spirit of Stoner and Doom Metal, enriched by elements of Thrash, Death and Sludge. Their sound is a fierce blend of massive grooves, razor-sharp drumming, and roaring vocals, a true tour-de-force of heavy metal energy.
Originally formed in 2009, the band’s debut performance erupted just steps away from Iceland’s “pots-and-pans revolution.” Quickly earning a cult reputation for their visceral sound and onstage ferocity, SLEEPING GIANT became one of Iceland’s most intriguing underground acts. After a decade of hibernation, the giant finally awoke in 2023, returning to the stage at Reykjadoom and Norðanpaunk festivals, and entering the studio to craft their long-awaited first official release, soon to be revealed through Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.
SLEEPING GIANT are:
Oddur Freyr Þorsteinsson – Vocals
Finnbogi Jökull Pétursson – Guitars, Backing Vocals
Árni Björn Björnsson – Guitars
Guðmundur Hrannar Eiríksson – Guitars
Einar Darri Einarsson – Bass

![SHADOW WITCH - Tell Me (official single) /// ARGONAUTA Records
2024 should be one helluva year for Shadow Witch, given the potency of their upcoming fourth release, “Eschaton (The End Of All Things)”, coming on ARGONAUTA Records.
[Band info courtesy of David LaMay] Those already familiar with the bands signature mix of dark 70s hard rock, doom, stoner, and hints of proto-punk will absolutely not be disappointed, but all is not as it was before.
This time around, a great many nuances from the past are brought to the fore, and this is certainly what should be considered their most dynamic, and, dare I say, accessible effort yet. The catchy hooks that were once reigned in are now literally everywhere, and the choruses, also plentiful, are absolutely huge, with the latter often carrying a strong gospel flavoring. The dark grooves of old sound quite comfortable sharing time with the sunlight freshly peeking through the bands oft-drawn curtains. This new album is denser than the others, and Lundy delivers what Id say is his most varied, colorful, and soulful vocals to date. No easy feat.
Its obvious, at least to this listener, that Shadow Witch wanted a new, perhaps intentionally unexpected infusion of something adventurous, and they have proven themselves more than up to the sizable task on this fourth trip to the studio.
This is a remarkable listen, from start to finish.
Need more proof? Check out the lead-off single “Tell Me” to get a tasty little nibble of whats going on with the band in the present. Its AC/DC-influenced anthemic intro and subsequent uptempo groove is not to be denied, just.... enjoyed:

Founded 2015 in New Yorks Hudson Valley, SHADOW WITCH is an enigmatic beast of a band, harnessing decades of varied influences with a decidedly vintage rock sensibility. Beginning with their first release ‘Sun Killer’ in 2016, and ‘Disciples Of The Crow’ in 2017, the band has garnered excellent reviews from the international heavy music community. After signing to Italy’s ARGONAUTA RECORDS, the band returned in 2020 with their brooding occult-rock ode to obsession Under The Shadow of a Witch. This year, again with ARGONAUTA, SHADOW WITCH release their highly anticipated fourth album ESCHATON (The End of All Things).

French sludge-core force TIGERLEECH have just released their brand new video “Otoshimae”, taken from their praised album Bicephalous, released in April 2025 by Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.
With Bicephalous, TIGERLEECH have taken a huge step forward in their evolution. The album delivers an intense and raw sludge metal sound, heavy with emotion, groove and confrontation.
It marks a clear move away from their earlier stoner influences, revealing a sharper and more aggressive identity.
Recorded at Hybreed Studios by Andrew Guillotin, Bicephalous captures the band’s most focused and energetic work to date.
Massive riffs, haunting vocals, and dense atmospheres come together in a mix that feels both punishing and deeply cathartic.
“Otoshimae” perfectly showcases this new direction. The track hits with unstoppable energy, while its visuals reflect the band’s vision of duality, conflict and redemption.
Formed in 2013, TIGERLEECH have built a solid reputation in the French heavy scene. They have played Hellfest Off, Napalm Fest and shared stages with many underground heavyweights. Each release has shown a new side of their sound, combining sludge, punk energy and raw emotion.
Bicephalous stands as their most complete and ambitious record so far. Every track carries its own identity, from the explosive “321 Ignition” to the slow-burning “…Again”.
Lyrically, the band faces political, social and personal struggles with no filter.
With Otoshimae, TIGERLEECH confirm their place among the most exciting names in today’s European sludge scene. TIGERLEECH - Otoshimae (official video) [Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Ptc9hkQTNek/mqdefault.jpg)

![GURNSLINGER - The Lizards (official video) - [Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records]
Emerging from the rugged shores of Jersey, apocalyptic rockers Gurnslinger are set to unleash their second single, The Lizards, accompanied by an official music video. The track is taken from their highly anticipated debut album, Who Killed the World?, scheduled for release on May 2nd, 2025, via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records in CD and digital formats.
Recorded in the depths of a bleak January at a remote farm in Rozel Bay, Jersey, the band locked themselves away in an isolated landscape that perfectly mirrored the themes of doom and decay explored throughout the album. Under the watchful eye of local shaman Lucas Saunter, the recording process was raw, immersive, and fuelled by a steady supply of ale, herbal inspiration, and a relentless loop of Mad Max: Fury Road playing in the background. The result? A genre-defying fusion of stoner rock, progressive structures, and punk attitude, capturing the essence of a world teetering on the edge of oblivion.
The finishing touches on the mix were handled by London-based producer Steve Sears Jr (Gallows, Conjurer, The Hell, WACO), ensuring that the album’s apocalyptic energy is as visceral as it is immersive.

A War Chant (1:50)

Gurnslinger began their journey in late 2022, forging their sound amidst the crumbling ruins of civilization. Hailing from Jersey—a mere forty-five square mile rock off the north coast of France—their music reflects themes of environmental destruction and societal collapse. But Gurnslinger is no exercise in nihilism; instead, they deliver a final battle cry, a raw and unrelenting burst of energy that demands to be heard before the world burns.
