Emerging from the rugged shores of Jersey, apocalyptic rockers Gurnslinger are set to unleash their second single, "The Lizards", accompanied by an official music video. The track is taken from their highly anticipated debut album, "Who Killed the World?", scheduled for release on May 2nd, 2025, via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records in CD and digital formats.
Recorded in the depths of a bleak January at a remote farm in Rozel Bay, Jersey, the band locked themselves away in an isolated landscape that perfectly mirrored the themes of doom and decay explored throughout the album. Under the watchful eye of local shaman Lucas Saunter, the recording process was raw, immersive, and fuelled by a steady supply of ale, herbal inspiration, and a relentless loop of Mad Max: Fury Road playing in the background. The result? A genre-defying fusion of stoner rock, progressive structures, and punk attitude, capturing the essence of a world teetering on the edge of oblivion.
The finishing touches on the mix were handled by London-based producer Steve Sears Jr (Gallows, Conjurer, The Hell, WACO), ensuring that the album’s apocalyptic energy is as visceral as it is immersive.
"Who Killed the World?" - Tracklist
The Lizards (5:20)
Back To Joe's (5:47)
A War Chant (1:50)
Capable (5:42)
The Altar Of The Cult Of The V8 (5:26)
Gurnslinger began their journey in late 2022, forging their sound amidst the crumbling ruins of civilization. Hailing from Jersey—a mere forty-five square mile rock off the north coast of France—their music reflects themes of environmental destruction and societal collapse. But Gurnslinger is no exercise in nihilism; instead, they deliver a final battle cry, a raw and unrelenting burst of energy that demands to be heard before the world burns.

![THRÆDS - Nothing Good to Say (official video) [Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records]
Progressive post-rockers THRÆDS have just released their new single and official video “Nothing Good to Say”, taken from their debut album Impermanence, which will be released on June 6 via Octopus Rising and Argonauta Records, available on CD and digital formats.
THRÆDS dives deep into the complexities of time, self-awareness, and resilience with their latest track, Nothing Good to Say. Fusing progressive post-rock with atmospheric shoegaze elements, the song creates a brooding yet introspective soundscape that mirrors the journey of confronting bitterness while striving to remain curious and humble.
Laced with raw emotion, the lyrics grapple with inner struggles—asking how much hostility and tragedy one can endure before learning to let go. Themes of surrendering control, embracing lifes uncertainties, and resisting darker temptations weave through haunting melodies and expansive instrumentals. Ethereal guitar layers and dynamic buildups guide listeners through a contemplative experience, balancing tension with reflection.
Nothing Good to Say invites listeners to look time in the eye, acknowledge life’s harsh realities, and find peace in vulnerability. It’s a reminder that even amidst chaos and disillusionment, there’s strength in choosing growth over bitterness, and curiosity over fear.
With Impermanence, THRÆDS explore the fragile and fleeting nature of existence through eight meticulously composed tracks. The band confronts the inevitability of entropy and the cycles of creation and destruction, shaping a sound that is both intense and immersive. Their music evolves between moments of overwhelming heaviness and eerie stillness, reflecting the unpredictable forces that shape human experience.
Formed in 2019 by guitarist and composer Angelos Tzamtzis, THRÆDS began as a solo project and quickly developed into a full band following his move to Berlin. Their multinational lineup blends progressive metal, post-metal and atmospheric rock with influences from Gojira, Tool, Alcest, Elder and Porcupine Tree.
Tracklist:
1.Timeless
2.Reflections
3.Nothing Good to Say
4.Clockworks
5.Sole Survivor
6.Devolve
7.Einstein Rosen Bridge
8.Story in Reverse
The album is entirely self-produced. Drums and vocals were recorded by Matthias Schilling at G7 Studios, while all other instruments were recorded by Angelos Tzamtzis. Guest contributions by Alekos Gramma (saxophone) and Vangelis Sazanidis (synthesizer) add further tension and depth to the sound, amplifying the album’s haunting and cinematic atmosphere.
According to the band, Impermanence is a meditation on change and collapse, a reflection on the violence and beauty of transformation. Their aim is to create an unfiltered and honest experience, using dissonance, atmosphere and dynamic shifts to challenge the listener and evoke a strong emotional response.
THRÆDS are:
Angelos Tzamtzis – Guitar, Synthesizer
Celso Borralho – Vocals
Felipe Melo Villarroel – Drums
Barnabás Mihály – Bass
Tim Crawford – Guitar, Backing Vocals
Following the release of their debut EP Akasha and a European tour in 2022, Impermanence marks a new chapter for the band, who are now preparing to bring their sound to new audiences across Europe.
