Argonauta Records proudly announces the debut album from Lorquin’s Admiral, a groundbreaking heavy-psychedelic collaboration that promises to captivate audiences across the globe. Featuring a stellar lineup of current and former members of Afghan Whigs, the Fizz Fuzz, Hermano, Luna Sol, Orquesta del Desierto, Sons of Alpha Centauri, and Yawning Sons, the band delivers a unique blend of soul-stirring harmonies, mesmerizing riffs, and unforgettable hooks.
Building on the critically acclaimed writing partnership between Marlon King, Nick Hannon, and Dandy Brown (first established on the widely celebrated Yawning Sons album Sky Island), Lorquin’s Admiral encapsulates the essence of psychedelic rock while pushing the genre into exciting new territories. The band’s debut album highlights the stunning vocal interplay of husband-and-wife duo Dawn and Dandy Brown, and the commanding rhythms of celebrated drummer Steve Earle, creating an immersive sonic experience that is both heavy and hypnotic.
Adding to the album’s allure, guitar virtuosos David Angstrom (Hermano, Luna Sol) and Country Mark Engel lend their distinctive touch, enriching the record with lush, textured guitar landscapes. Angstrom’s contributions span seven tracks, while Engel’s masterful work graces two.
Drawing inspiration from desert rock pioneers while seamlessly incorporating elements of blues, psychedelic, and alternative music, Lorquin’s Admiral appeals to fans of Kyuss, Fu Manchu and Fatso Jetson, as well as admirers of the Cranberries, Screaming Trees and Garbage. The band carves out a unique space in the heavy-psychedelic scene, proving that rock music remains a powerful and evolving force.

Aren’t We
God knows
It’s just a love song
On the radio
That plays in my mind
Hate knows
It takes a little time
To work it out
Or let it die
Love knows
It’s just a sweet song
On my stereo
That makes everything alright
Oh, I sang along
Singing of my sins
Mending up my soul
Cause we’re just making up rules here
Aren’t we?
Yeah
Hell knows
It’s just a strange time
We’re going through
That shattered you
Spite knows
It takes a little time
And little minds
To flatter fools
Oh, I sang along
Singing of my sins
Mending up my soul
Cause we’re just making up rules here
Aren’t we?
God knows
It’s just a love song
About somebody who’s
Somebody cool
Oh, I sang along
Singing of my sins
Mending up my soul
Cause we’re just making up rules here
Aren’t we?
If God knows nothing

French sludge-core force TIGERLEECH have just released their brand new video “Otoshimae”, taken from their praised album Bicephalous, released in April 2025 by Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.
With Bicephalous, TIGERLEECH have taken a huge step forward in their evolution. The album delivers an intense and raw sludge metal sound, heavy with emotion, groove and confrontation.
It marks a clear move away from their earlier stoner influences, revealing a sharper and more aggressive identity.
Recorded at Hybreed Studios by Andrew Guillotin, Bicephalous captures the band’s most focused and energetic work to date.
Massive riffs, haunting vocals, and dense atmospheres come together in a mix that feels both punishing and deeply cathartic.
“Otoshimae” perfectly showcases this new direction. The track hits with unstoppable energy, while its visuals reflect the band’s vision of duality, conflict and redemption.
Formed in 2013, TIGERLEECH have built a solid reputation in the French heavy scene. They have played Hellfest Off, Napalm Fest and shared stages with many underground heavyweights. Each release has shown a new side of their sound, combining sludge, punk energy and raw emotion.
Bicephalous stands as their most complete and ambitious record so far. Every track carries its own identity, from the explosive “321 Ignition” to the slow-burning “…Again”.
Lyrically, the band faces political, social and personal struggles with no filter.
With Otoshimae, TIGERLEECH confirm their place among the most exciting names in today’s European sludge scene. TIGERLEECH - Otoshimae (official video) [Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Ptc9hkQTNek/mqdefault.jpg)

![GURNSLINGER - The Lizards (official video) - [Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records]
Emerging from the rugged shores of Jersey, apocalyptic rockers Gurnslinger are set to unleash their second single, The Lizards, accompanied by an official music video. The track is taken from their highly anticipated debut album, Who Killed the World?, scheduled for release on May 2nd, 2025, via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records in CD and digital formats.
Recorded in the depths of a bleak January at a remote farm in Rozel Bay, Jersey, the band locked themselves away in an isolated landscape that perfectly mirrored the themes of doom and decay explored throughout the album. Under the watchful eye of local shaman Lucas Saunter, the recording process was raw, immersive, and fuelled by a steady supply of ale, herbal inspiration, and a relentless loop of Mad Max: Fury Road playing in the background. The result? A genre-defying fusion of stoner rock, progressive structures, and punk attitude, capturing the essence of a world teetering on the edge of oblivion.
The finishing touches on the mix were handled by London-based producer Steve Sears Jr (Gallows, Conjurer, The Hell, WACO), ensuring that the album’s apocalyptic energy is as visceral as it is immersive.

Gurnslinger began their journey in late 2022, forging their sound amidst the crumbling ruins of civilization. Hailing from Jersey—a mere forty-five square mile rock off the north coast of France—their music reflects themes of environmental destruction and societal collapse. But Gurnslinger is no exercise in nihilism; instead, they deliver a final battle cry, a raw and unrelenting burst of energy that demands to be heard before the world burns.
