So we actually have a little secret in this level, unlike in the original. After all, if we're gonna revisit this stage from X1, we might as well fight the boss that used to be here. After all, Vile escaped in the intro stage instead of just blowing up like in the original Xtreme.
Speaking of bosses, we have swapped the boss order in these levels, as Serges is the boss for this stage instead of Bospider, and he even has narrative relevance. Zain and Geemel have also been moved to a different stage. The boss rush has also been spread out between the levels instead of being just the one capsule room like tradition.

So this game mixes up the Stage Select by only having 3 stages available at first, and clearing them will unlock paths to the other ones. So while you still get to pick your own order if you want, its not as free-flowing as a typical Mega Man game. Anyway, Cold Man is an ice level, obviously. But theres not much in terms of actual ice gimmicks, just some crumbling panels if you step on them. No slippery floors or jetboards to be seen here.
