I was doing some digging and came to realise this was actually recorded at a soundcheck for a show in November 1993, possibly the November 9th show in Los Angeles at the Wadsworth although I can't yet confirm this. I did however also find a better quality version of this performance, and so long as you can ignore the BBC 4 logo, it looks as crisp and as clean as I've ever seen it.

This was aired on December 25th 1993 during the TOTP 1993 Christmas Special, and I can't confirm the exact date of its recording but given the live performance of the song on the show in August was aired live from Los Angeles, with the venue never specified - and that the November 9th show in Los Angeles at the Wadsworth had quite a lot of press attention, then I wouldn't be surprised if it was a soundcheck from November 9th 1993.
