Hello everyone! These are demos present on the MTYD tape, compiled in August 1973, of the adaptations of songs written for the March 1971 Northampton production of 'Good Woman of Szechuan', with music by Jim Steinman and directed by Barry Keating. Unfortunately, little is known of this production and few materials have survived, with these demos among them. Steinman had plans to further adapt the Brecht play into his own called 'Skin Alley', although this never materialised as permission was not granted by the Brecht estate, and so Steinman went on to work on other projects.

Like usual, I have tried to restore the audio as best I can, although from the lossless source the audio was nearly perfect in the first place, so only minor adjustments have been made. The lineup for these demos has been fully identified with certainty except for the female vocalist, thought to be Ursuline Kairson, although this has yet to be definitively proven. The exact date of recording is unknown, presumed to be 1973 but really could be anytime between 1971 and 1973. As always, enjoy, and let me know what you think, -MLBF.
