Dunia Elvir grew up in Honduras and moved to the United States as a teenager. She always had a passion for journalism. She became a respected figure in Los Angeles for her strong community reporting on Spanish-language television. An advocate for immigrant rights Dunia overcame many challenges, including mastering English and having to mask her native Honduran accent. She serves as an inspirational role model to generations of Angelenos.
