Maya Beach, located on one of the Phi Phi islands in Thailand, is one of the most beautiful bays and beaches in the world! You may recognize it from the 2000 movie The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Due to its popularity, the bay became overcrowded with tourists, but the Thailand authorities closed the bay for 3 1/2 years to repopulate it with coral. Today, no boats and no swimming is allowed, and this stunning bay is healthy again, for all to enjoy.
