A good down-sell should build trust, not quietly discount your work.
When someone can’t afford the full offer, the move is not:
“Let me just lower the price.”
The move is:
“Here’s what you probably don’t need yet.”
That does two things.
It keeps the value of your work intact.
And it shows the prospect you’re not trying to sell them every possible thing just because you can.
You’re helping them buy the right version of the solution for where they are.
That’s the menu down-sell.
Same outcome focus.
Smaller scope.
Maintain trust.
