River update! He’s 15 months old and pretty MASSIVE! He’s also lost his winter coat and is now in his skinny summer time one. Wolves and many wolfdogs drop their thick winter coats in summer so they can stay cool. It then grows back again in the autumn.
Wolfdogs are an ADVANCED BREED and I do not suggest them as pets as people don’t understand that their behaviour differs from normal dogs. Wolfdogs cannot be forced to obey you or they’ll hate you, run from you or bite you. You encourage them to do what you want with bribery and positive experiences.
Don’t ever think they’re like a husky because they’re not. They are hyper intelligent and come from a wolf who was never domesticated so doesn’t need to obey you as their dna is purely for survival.
