That's what Patricia truly hoped would happen. Her husband had beat her many times. He'd been sexually inappropriate with the children. He had cheated on her. But as a devout Christian, Patricia believed that a marriage intensive hosted by the best-known name in Christian family ministry would make her home safe. They traveled all the way to Branson, Missouri.
It didn't. She went to Christian marriage retreats three times, and spent well over $15,000. She walked away fearing for her life and living in danger. She finally divorced and got to safety.
