So this edit is finished!! Took me a while to get to writing this up bc I've been really busy, and unfortunately, I have quite the workload.
But I'll try to type something up for this, despite that~
So then, I basically nearly finished this in the same 24 hours in which I started/uploaded the wip?? I reeeally got into this project and really got into editing it!
I'll start by briefly talking about my song and character choice here. So I found this song a few months back and I basically instantly looked it up on spotify lol And I increasingly thought like I wanted to edit with the song, but I just didn't know what character to use! I wasn't vibing with anyone. But the other day, along with slowly getting back into YGO after remembering about thiefshipping due to one other song, it hit me - I could edit with MARIK! And then I was really excited and began putting this together, and slowly that lead to me uploading that wip ksadhdakj
I think this song is in Swahili, also?
Well, yes, I had lots of fun putting this together and trying to form a flow with the transitions. I wanted them to be bouncy! And as I was making this, I got the sudden idea of including art from the manga and so!! I took out one of my Yugioh manga volumes and scanned it for this edit!!~
In general I believe this edit is my first *finished* edit in which I've edited with Marik, as well as edited with my own manga scans ^^ I do really like how crisp the quality of the scans is!
It was also loads of fun to edit with Marik too! I don't uuusually edit with him, so it was neat to find clips that focused on him~ But I had a hard time remembering episode counts at points (pretty much all episodes besides episode 97 ^^''), so I needed to reeeally look through my episode screenshot collection.
I sort of got tired towards the end of the first loop and started mostly copying and pasting event attributes, but I did have an idea of changing up the loop, and changing the colors of it and whatnot ^^ I nearly rendered out the loop and was planning on adding that as the second loop (can't imagine that that would be too great on the quality), but then I got myself together and copied/pasted the adjustment layer keyframes and triiied to align them well enough, as well as copied and pasted/made a duplicate of all of the clips and moved them over, and as a result, I er??? Somehow the second loop feels more on-beat that the first?? XD
Oooh and I also wanted to ditch the ''white watermark on black background'' thing for this video, and instead add that scene at the start with the audio of what he says, and to make the outro more interesting I decided to add a manga scan ^^
Some of the twixtor, as I expected, became a bit unnoticeable bc of the effects, but what can ya do ^^''

I had some difficulties with making this video. The first big one felt like even c h o o s i n g a song, oml XD
I just couldnt think of what song to use, but I knew I wanted to edit a cute video, with this style of text, specifically, but this was the only song that came to my mind but I was unsure about using it bc the song as a whole (like all of the lyrics) dont exactly fit u s, but neither my best friend, nor Kate (I _vaguely_ asked her for song recommendations XD) could suggest a song for me to use, so I was like ???? alright, time to stick with this! XD
From that point I didnt come back to the video for a loooong time. I ended up setting the audio on one day, then I finished the video in two days, but the gap between those points was pretty big. Aaaalmost a month.
Anyways, I was kinda low on ideas here, as you mightve read, and Im not particularly happy with how this turned out, mostly bc I feel like its too bright - I dont understand why it looks more bright than how I remember it looking when I first rendered it, but, eh, I obviously cant fix this now.
I was also confused about what to do with the ending asdfghjkl XD
But nonetheless, I did a thing XD
Also I mean the RENDERING process couldve been a little faster, ye? XDD I mean yo, first time around, when I rendered this as a thing I would edit further, it took around 3 hours and 50 minutes to render, but the next time - pretty much an hour more, so XD

So first off, I wanna say that this is not a shipping edit. I just wanted to make a video simply including these two, bc I think theyre both cute XD But if you wanna imagine this as a shipping edit - sure, you do you XD
Ive had an idea like this for a while now, but Ive just not been sure what song to use - until a couple days ago. This song was stuck in my head, and after a bit, I was struck with editing ideas. I quickly decided to make a video about these two characters. My first intentions were to animate pictures, but **nervous laugh** that would not have worked out, at least not this quickly XD Simply bc - low motivation XD
I was squeaking when adding the clips - I was trying to go for every clip to be cute, and judging by how I was already happy with the video without any effects, I think I did well with that idea ^^
I put the clips together in Vegas, and then did everything else in AE :3
Again, it was a lot of fun - as per usual when I edit in AE.
I went for a similar style that I went with for my first Aki edit, bc if not the picture animating, I thought that this fit ^^
Im just a bit worried about whether or not the coloring is too bright XD
I also wasnt expecting the video to end where it did, when I copied and pasted it, so it loops, but here we are XD
I was worried about what the result will look like, bc in the output screen in Media Encoder, the video looked very strange and different from how its supposed to look, but thankfully, the end result looked nothing like that ^^
Another very nice thing is that this took around 4 minutes to render :3

I only started this yesterday XD
But heck, am I happy with the result! OWO Believe it or not, I got this done in only 3 hours!
The reason that I hadnt started making smth earlier was because of school, coming home late and whatnot, and simply not having as much inspiration to edit.
However, I recently got sick. So Ive been home for a little while now, and tbh? I feel like...this is life essentially giving me the chance to edit when I felt like I couldnt. I had to take this chance.
My first idea for a birthday edit for Sapphy was a Sonic edit with a WAR*HALL. It involved a style similar to, say, my Judai and Aki - VERY Nice edit, but, I scrapped this idea yesterday due to feeling like it wouldnt be good enough, or would be boring.
As I was making that edit, I was listening to this song here, and it was then, that it hit me, that I could try to make an edit with Batman media. Ive never edited with this media before, and perhaps, thats exactly the fact that helped me edit - the fact that this is something new.
The clips were all downloaded from YT, as I couldnt seem to find another download for the cutscenes, and I wanted to make this download process quick. Thankfully, it was, thanks to my internet being fast.
Then, when it came to editing, I was a little scared that I wouldnt like the result, but that thought quickly changed.
The coloring you see here, I made yesterday, while simply experimenting. It wasnt even made for this video - I had tested this thing out on FFXV clips. Its also heavily inspired by a coloring in one of seravhes edits!
Speaking of being inspired - the typography here is also heavily inspired by another one of seravhes edits.
This was also the first time I had tried out the Universe plugin in an actual edit. I seriously like this plugin! I mean, a VHS effect and a glitch effect without having to do extra work? Im sold XD
Anyways, editing this was super quick, as I had a lot of inspo. It was also very fun! Im surprised I could put this much effort into a project made this late, and this quickly.
Honestly, Im very happy with this whole result ^^
Im aaaalso super happy about the fact that this only took 5 minutes and 45 seconds to render! Even less than my previous edit took.
